Architectural Carvings and Conservation 

Luke offers conservation work to historic buildings, producing new architectural carvings for stone replacements and work on objects to museum standards.

“I originally trained at Weymouth College in Applied Architectural Stone Work and Conservation before attending Kingston University, London, where I gained a 2:1 BSc Hons Degree in Historic Building Conservation.  After this I moved to Edinburgh and worked as a Conservator for private conservation companies, working on historic buildings and objects across the country. “

Top image – a replacement stone carving of an Angel for Carstairs Parish Church, which was restored in 2019. Hand carved in Stanton Moore Sandstone alongside sculptor Michelle de Bruin, artist in residence at Hutton Stone.
